About Us

Our resident trainer is Alex LaRue. Alex began riding about as long as she has been walking. She began taking formal lesson at an Eventing barn at the age of 5. Once she started she was hooked. At the age of 12, Alex found her way to her current mentor, Meighan Ferguson. Through her time with Meighan she grew from competing at the Beginner Novice level to Prelim in one year. She has experience through the CIC*** level of Eventing, the 1.25 meter Jumpers and through 3rd level Dressage. Alex completed at the NAJYRC team at the CCI* (now **) level for Area 5 in 2005 and 2006 with her upper level partner, Ringwood Ventura. Alex attended Oklahoma State University and attained her bachelors degree in Agricultural Leadership, with a minor in Animal Science. Her love for horses, and livestock and general didn't stop once she graduated from college, her husband, Ty, is an Agricultural Education instructor and they have spent the last several years teaching young kids how to be involved with the Ag industry in the state of Oklahoma.  Alex's training program is based on slow correct work, and believes that by not skipping steps at the beginning will create the ultimate partnership between horse and rider. Alex has been blessed with the ability to ride with many different coaches, and trainers throughout the years including: Mike Huber, Phillip Dutton, Boyd Martin, Will Faudree, Anthea Kin, Laureen McKenzie, Mary D'Arcy, Jim Graham, Capt. Mark Phillips and many more.
